03 / SAFETY FIRST

Know the risks.
Know when to ask for help.

Read a concise safety summary, urgent warning signs and the questions to raise before prescription oral GLP-1 treatment.

Read the exact product leaflet.

The following summary uses the US Foundayo label for general orforglipron education. It is not a verified OrfoXen leaflet or a complete safety list.

Commonly reported effects

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort can occur. Discuss persistent or troublesome symptoms with your clinician.

Seek urgent medical care

Severe persistent abdominal pain, breathing difficulty or facial/throat swelling need urgent assessment. Repeated vomiting or diarrhea with inability to keep fluids down can cause dehydration.

Before treatment

The Foundayo label contraindicates use with personal/family medullary thyroid carcinoma, MEN2 or serious hypersensitivity. Discuss pregnancy, oral contraception, other medicines, severe stomach-emptying problems and planned anesthesia. Insulin or sulfonylureas may increase hypoglycemia risk. Do not combine GLP-1 medicines without your prescriber’s direction.

Prepare a safety conversation.

Keep a written list of all prescription medicines, supplements and relevant allergies. Ask who to contact during normal hours and what to do outside those hours. Do not use a website enquiry channel for urgent medical concerns.

When reporting a concern, keep the packaging and note the product name, batch number, date and what happened. Share these with your treating professional so they can advise on the next step and any appropriate safety report.

For an emergency, attend the nearest emergency department. This website cannot assess symptoms, choose treatment or provide emergency care.
